    The Gujarat government has just declared that marriages without parental consent are not to be registered. So if you're a couple in your mid-twenties who want to get married even though your parents don't approve, too damn bad. How can the government go about infringing on individual freedoms like this? But it's probably in conflict with the Special Marriages Act at least. The kicker is this comment by a government lackey: "Around 15-20% of registered marriages are cases of elopement. We wanted to stop this."
